I've owned a number of both. I've had zero issue w/ the 2019 and beyond Staccatos, and prefer some of their features/offerings over the old. I don't think there's been a drop in quality, and by that I mean functional quality. Not my 1st 2011, had a DVC Carry that I sold to buy a WC EDCx9 While looking at the XC I was super intrigued by all the videos online of guys shooting sub two-second Bill Drills and I started dreaming "That could be me!".The Staccato P is absolutely worth every penny. Picked up my Staccato P DPO with aluminum frame and threaded stainless steel barrel. The first magazine through it at 10 yards made one large ragged hole. It is hands down the best shooting pistol I own. Although I haven't had a single malfunction with it, I did notice the slide hesitating when feeding flat-nosed and HP ammo.
