On my 552, it has the letters "P Z" for Jun 1975. The lower leg on the P is somewhat short, but there's enough there that I can tell it IS a "P". (It also has the plain wood and 23 1/2" barrel) I would disregard the numbers ("78"). They are essentially assembly and/or inspectors' marks. Mine has "55" stamped in it.
