I have a hammer , more than enough nails and plank on me, and i have already barricaded 2 windows on the building but i can't seem to put up planks on either the door or the 3 remaining windows. I have read in google/reddit and search on this forums and apparently it has been an issue for a long time. Is this just a random bug or what exactly is happening ?.Barricade it with a metal plate on the inside, then go outside and barricade with metal bars. It looks pretty good and lots of protection. Can't see outside of it though. Remove the broken glass first. Use gloves. There are mods to make glass, but idk if any of those allows you to replace large windows.
